The lack of sight makes a person's life very challenging, especially in everyday life. The other senses are reorganized to supplement sight, helping to reorient behavior and the way a person faces the world around them. with visual impairment. Coalivi's daily goal is to support this process.
Coalivi, or in more general terms, the Corporation for Assistance to the Visually Impaired, is a non-profit organization located in the city of Concepción. It was founded in 1980 with the purpose of educating, rehabilitating and integrating blind people into society and the workplace. or with low vision.
This organization works to rescue people with visual disabilities from discrimination, hopelessness and marginalization, turning them into useful, active people who can contribute to their families and the community in which they live. Coalivi's mission is to provide the fundamental tools to people with visual impairments so that their integration is possible, as well as to promote visual health and prevent the main causes of blindness.
Its work is carried out through its Education and Rehabilitation Centre, which provides specific programmes run by a multidisciplinary team with vast experience in the ophthalmological field. It also cares for children and young people with multiple special educational needs, who in addition to their visual impairment, have motor problems, deafness and/or cerebral palsy.
It also has a Medical Center, which is open to the public, with warm and professional attention and an optician, with its own workshop, which provides accuracy and quality in the dispensing of optical prescriptions.
Under the premise “Look good and do good”, we help Coalivi. With the idea that it is possible to be a sustainable company and make a social contribution at the same time, we donated part of the profits from a special campaign to the foundation.
